RACINE William E. “Bill” Boyd Jr. 57 passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon March 14, 2013 in Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center following complications of pneumonia. Bill was born July 7, 1955 in Bonham, TX the son of William and Jo Ella (nee Bundy) Boyd. He was a graduate of Canton High School in Canton TX and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University. Bill was a ‘proud Aggie’ just like his father. Bill was employed with the Racine Journal Times as an Ad Exec. He served on several boards in the Racine area including Goodfellows, Tex Reynolds Toys for Tots, Salmon-A-Rama, Racine Zoo Animal Crackers Jazz Series, Lighthouse Run, and many others. Bill’s love was being on the golf course and spending time with his family and in his “shop”. He will be remembered for his “Boydhouses” as well as his infamous chip-in-shot with his 7 iron. Bill will be deeply missed by his loving partner Pat Widmaier, sons Benjamin and Joseph Boyd, his sister Katherine Boyd Jones, nephew Brian (fiance Cynthia Lauer) Jones, and many other relatives and many many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. In keeping with Bill’s wishes a Memorial Service will not be held. However, a celebration of Bill’s life will be announced and held this Summer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship Fund, 1 Briar Road, Golf, IL 60029, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend a special thank you to Dr. Michael Mullane and his team for their continued support and care given to Bill. Thank you also to the staff of Wheaton Franciscan All Saints.;
