Racine – Sally Mae Mathieus (nee. Gorsiski), age 89, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at Parkview Gardens. She was born in Racine to parents Stanley and Mable (nee. Potterville) Gorsiski on February 5, 1937.
She is survived by her children, Victoria (Randy) Vassh, Valerie Gray (Shawn Murphy), and Virgina (Scott) Mattie; grandchildren, Erik Mathieus, Brad (Carissa) Plachter, Matthew Plachter, Andrew (Morgan) St. Martin, Sarah (Dean) Polaske, and Laura (Mike) Terselic; great-grandchildren, Alana, Brianna, Ariel, Brittney, Courtney, Brooke, and Matthew Plachter, Jr., Benjamin and Madelyn St. Martin, Brantley and Oaklynn Polaske, Joey and Olivia Terselic.
Funeral services, followed by interment at West Lawn Memorial Park, will be held privately for the family.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Oak Ridge Care Center, Parkview Gardens, and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care given to Sally.
Sally you will be missed by your families here on earth. What a blessing to be reunited with Dick on the day of your Wedding Anniversary. We will remember our happy times, holiday parties – drinks by the pool – road trips – casino’s. Rest in peace. Dave & Jean
Vicki, Val and Ginny. you have my sympathy with the loss of your mom. I will miss seeing the christmas tree on the porch decorated for the current holiday and her talent with making beautiful afghans. Sally was a great neighbor for all the years Ive lived in the neighborhood. May you find peace that she is now pain free.
