Bruce Elliott Rachal (Affectionately known “Elliott” or “Chunk”), 20, of Kenosha, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, after a 6-month battle with a Stage 4 Osteosarcoma.
In April 2026, Elliott was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Osteosarcoma in his right knee. He was taken to the emergency room for what was believed to be a knee injury, but his right leg was broken just above the knee due to a large tumor. After several rounds of treatment over the past few months, he succumbed to the metastatic nodules that filled both lungs. Our sweet Chunk passed peacefully surrounded by his parents and brothers.
Elliott was a beloved son, brother, grandson and friend. His memorable smile, laugh, and sense of humor will always stay with us. He will always be remembered for his extroverted and curious personality unafraid to speak his mind nor shy away from tough discussions. His voice when talking with his brothers and friends was always loud and louder. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, and the happiness he spread to all he encountered.
He loved gaming, Manga, Anime, Star Wars, reading, researching, listening to music, and chatting online with his friends from around the world. While in the hospital, Elliott avidly utilized the library and kept a cart in his hospital full of comics, classic books, Blu-rays, and video games. He often felt too tired to read or actively play the games but hoped his energy would return as he continued treatment. There was so much he wanted to do, that he created several lists of books, places to visit, movies to watch and games to play. We will honor his memory by completing his many lists.
While waiting for treatment, Elliott was granted a wish through the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation to visit the museum of his favorite creator of all time, George Lucas. Although he could not visit the museum before it opened this month, we hope to honor his memory by planning a future visit.
Elliott is survived by his loving parents, Bruce and Regina Rachal, as well as his brothers, Stephan and Nathan Rachal. He is also remembered his grandparents, Irene Delgado, Arthur and Sandy Rachal; along with extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by uncle, Johnny Rachal; aunts, Jessie Rachal, Bernice Rachal, and Ramona Rodriguez; grandmother, Nancy Rachal, grandfathers, Raymond Delgado and Thomas Zuniga; great-grandparents, Virginia and Hilario Rodriguez, Abelina and Ramon Zuniga.
We wish to thank the medical teams at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Aurora Kenosha Medical Center, and Froedtert Hospital for the compassionate care of our beloved Chunk. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the countless caregivers who provided kindness and dedicated care during his journey. We also wish to thank the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern Wisconsin for the accommodations they provided for our family these last few weeks. Having a place to rest, refresh and have sustenance was truly appreciated.
Thank you to the Kenosha Public Library for expeditiously gathering so many materials over these past few months. Our Elliott was so thankful for all the books, games, movies, and TV shows he had access to. Even though he could not watch as many as he hoped, we were thankful he could gather all of them when he could.
A celebration of Elliott’s life will be held Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Stand on His Word International Apostolic Ministries (Yahweh Church), located at 3433 Douglas Ave, Racine, WI 53402. All who knew our Elliott are welcome to attend as we gather to honor, remember, and celebrate him.
