Vernice I. Laduron 94 died late Monday evening November 12, 2012 in Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center from complications arising from an assault that occurred during an invasion in her Mount Pleasant home in August. She was born April 2, 1918 in Crandon, Wi the daughter of Herman and Amanda (nee: Winecuff) Bock. After her parents died when she was a young girl she lived with an aunt and attend schools in the Rhinelander area. Later she lived with her older sisters Esther (Ed) Ponko, and Ella (Russell) Larkin. She was married to William Laduron for over 50 years and he preceded her in death November 8, 1999. In addition to being a homemaker, Vernice worked for Acme Die Casting in Racine. She and William spent their retirement years traveling throughout the United States eventually spending winters for over 30 years at Oleander Acres in Mission, Texas. For many years Vernice belonged to a ladies card club in Racine, and while at Oleander Acres she enjoyed bible study and church projects for missions in Mexico. She enjoyed dominos, bingo, going to jam sessions, Sunday ice cream socials, day trips into Mexico, and the entertainment provided in the mission area for the Winter Texans. Everyone knew Vernice loved cats and she especially love ‘Baby’ who was her constant companion either on her lap, or snoozing on her bed. Vernice was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church where she was active with the Ladies Home Guild for over 50 years. Survivors include her son Allen (Michele) Laduron, of Oconto, WI. One grandson Robert (Nicole) Laduron and their children Patti, Claire and Samuel of Appleton. One Step-grandson Christopher (Emily) Benser and their daughter Abigail of Duluth MN. One niece Sandy (David) Steinke, and one nephew David (Liliane) Larkin both of Racine. Vernice is also survived by several great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther (Ed) Ponko, Ella (Russell) Larkin two infant brothers, an infant sister, niece Lynn Larkin and great-nephew Richard Larkin. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 3 p.m. in Epiphany Lutheran Church 2921 Olive St. Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Oconto, WI. The family will receive guests on Monday in the church from 2:30 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated and will be allocated for mission work through the church.;
