Sandra Ann Olsen (nee: Naleid), age 82, passed away on December 4, 2014 at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center in Racine. Sandra was born to the late Edwin Lester Naleid and Geraldine LaVerne Nelson on October 14, 1932 in Racine, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Park High School and went on to attend the University of Colorado. She was united in marriage to Benjamin H. Olsen on February 20, 1954. Sandra was a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Christ Church United Methodist for many years. She loved to embroider, watch Jeopardy, attend bridge club with her closest friends, and truly enjoyed being part of the numerous horse shows that her daughters participated in. Sandra loved animals, and for many years shared her home with parakeets, dogs, and numerous cats. She was especially fond of cats and volunteered at the Racine Humane Society. She was a member of Badger State Doll Club, UFDC, Inc. as well as serving a term as secretary for the club. Sandra loved collecting dolls and had a special fondness of her Gone With The Wind collection, as that was always her favorite movie. Surviving are her two daughters: Wendy Olsen and Amy (Joe) Bontempo; three grandchildren: Marc and Dan Olsen, and Samantha Bontempo; two sisters Suzanne (Fritz) Larson, Penny Naleid, and one brother, Jack (Helen) Naleid. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Geraldine Naleid; and husband Ben Olsen. A private family service was held on December 16 at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. Memorials may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in Sandra’s honor.;
