Rose E. Schmid, 97 of Racine passed away Monday June 26, 2017 in the Artisan Care Center. She was born June 20, 1920 in Stutgart, Germany, the daughter of Albert and Elsa Bissinger. She married Albert Schmid on June 14, 1941 in Hancock MI. Albert passed away December 7, 1970. Rose was employed as a friend of the court through the state of Michigan. She loved to crochet, read, travel and garden. She also loved playing Pinochle and Bingo. She will be dearly missed by her son Al (Kathy) Schmid, 2 grandchildren Lisa (Nick) Comande, Laura (David) Popadic and 3 great grandchildren, Rachel, Sara and Matthew. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, 1 brother Herbert and 1 sister Martha. A funeral service will be held for Rose Saturday July 1, 2017 at 11 am in the funeral home. Deacon Steve Kramer officiating. The family will receive guests on Saturday July 1, 2017 from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will be private for the family in Forest Hill Cemetery, Houghton MI.
