Ronald Henry Gast, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Ronald was born November 23, 1948 in Racine, Wisconsin.  He was the son of Henry James and Myrtle (Nee: Gavin) Gast.  Ron served with the United States Army and was very proud of his military service.  He enjoyed cooking and baking, and his friends were often the beneficiaries of his culinary expertise.  Ron’s golden retrievers Shannon, Casey and Kaly were his biggest joys over the years. He was a jack-of-all trades, often giving up his own time and using these gifts and talents for the benefit of others.  During his years working as a Supervisor in the cable industry, he was awarded a “Heart of Gold” award. Ron’s gentle spirit and easy smile made a lasting impression on anyone who was fortunate to have known him.  Ron will be deeply missed by his sister Karen Petersen, Indiana;  brother William (Catherine) Gast, Missouri; His life long friends Konrad Nelson, Davis and Lisa Driver, Martha (Matt) Sheahan and their children Olivia, Owen, Lucy and Leona. Ron will be missed dearly by his nieces Dawn Gast and Lindsay Gast of Wisconsin; Tanya Petersen and Lori Chen of Indiana; Amy Patterson of Missouri; nephews Douglas Petersen of Indiana; William Henry Gast, Jr. and Joel Robert Gast of Missouri and sister-in-law Bonnie Gast.  Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James and his twin Donald Gast and brother-in-law Laurence Petersen.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Racine Humane Society.  Services for Ronald will be held at Strouf Funeral Home, 1001 High Street, on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be at Southern Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
