Roberto Salinas, 87, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 15, 1933 in Mexico. Born the son of Santo Santiago and Magdalena (NEE: Varela) Salinas. Roberto married Valentina Perez in 1953. Roberto enjoyed buying cars, boats, and motorcycles; anything with a motor. He liked to hang out with friends and spend time with his family. One of his hobbies was horse training. Roberto will be dearly missed by his wife Valentina, and children Sylvia Salinas (Emiliano Contreras), Roberto (Fabiola) Salinas, Juan C Salinas (Marlys) Laura (Ignacio) Perez, Doreen (Alfredo) Guajardo, Jesus N. (Mireyra) Salinas, Sergio (Valerie) Salinas, Cristina Salinas, Miguel Salinas, Gabriel (Ruth) Salinas, Flory (Javier) Sandoval, Rodolfo V. Salinas, Pamela Salinas, Brenda (Luis A.Valencia) and Bernardo Salinas. He will be missed by a host of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by two brothers Santiago and Arturo, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Roberto is preceded in death by his parents, brother Lorenzo, and sisters Yolanda and Inez. A memorial service for Roberto will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Strouf Funeral Home. The family will receive guests on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
