Richard F. Martell, 87 of Racine, passed away Tuesday January 16, 2018 in the Ridgewood Care Center. He was born in Kenosha on November 3, 1930, the son of Arthur and Elizabeth (Nee: Schultz) Martell. Richard married Anna (Nee: Vergadamo) Martell in Racine on September 12th, 1953. A high school graduate, Richard worked as a programmer for Massey Ferguson. He loved to golf, do jigsaw puzzles, read and take trips to Hawaii whenever possible. He enjoyed volunteering his time to Wheaton Franciscan for 22 years, but Richard’s biggest passion in life was his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 64 years Anna, 3 children, Mark (Kathy) Martell, Denise Schoening and Andy (Karrie) Martell. 5 grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Cole, Kristin (Andy) Risler, Jason and 2 great-grandchildren, Jack and Alaina. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Gail, Kay Ellen and Mimi Ann along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and 3 brothers. A Memorial Gathering will be held for Richard in the funeral home on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 10 am until 12pm. Burial will be private for the family.
