GEORGE, KENNETH C.of Racine, age 83 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Easter Sunday April 8, 2012 in Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Healthcare in Racine. He was born December 30, 1928 the only son of Emil and Edna (nee: Koepfe) George. He attended North Division High School in Milwaukee and Marquette University and served his country in the U.S. Army. Kenny was in the restaurant business the majority of his life. He built and owned KG’s Supper Club in Milwaukee, and the Grove Public House in Elm Grove. He employed hundreds of people during his ownership and was always considered to be a kind, thoughtful and generous employer. After retiring in 1992, Kenny and his wife Shirley lived in Las Vegas, Brookfield, and Destin, FL. His wife Shirley Iacoe George passed away in 1999 and he moved to Dallas to live with his son and daughter-in-law. In 2003 they all moved to Racine. Kenny enjoyed the Wall Street Journal, international politics, science, reading, watching golf, and his dogs, Tasha, Moxie, Trixie and Reggie.Survivors include his sons Keith (Sharon) George of Racine, Lawrence George of Milwaukee, and Matthew (Jessica Foor) George of Milwaukee, daughter Jennifer (John) Merrison of Wauwatosa, step-son David (Peggy) Iacoe of Tulsa, OK, grandchildren Christopher (Allie) George, Laura Merrison, Kaytie (Miro) Rybar, Nyssa Koons, Erica Iacoe, two great grandchildren and a special friend Anna Mazos. He is also preceded in death by the mother of his children Janet (nee Sutton) George, and his sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Fred Zimmerman.The family invites friends, former employees and customers of KG’s and the Grove Public House to a celebration of Kenny and Shirley’s lives on Wednesday May 30, 2012 from 3-7 pm at Victor’s Restaurant, 1230 N. Van Buren St. in Milwaukee.
