John C. Rendon

John C. Rendon 76 passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning February 15, 2015 in his home. He was born May 27, 1938 in Pearsall, TX the son of Feliciano and Jesusa (nee: Cavazos) Rendon. John married to Antoinette Escheverria but later was divorced. On May 26, 1996 John married Sharon A. Baker in Racine. She passed away August 7, 2014. John worked many jobs over the years but was a supervisor for Harris Metals for a number of years. He was a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Parish, volunteering in many parish activities. He was also a member of the Racine Eagles Club. He enjoyed playing his guitar in church and for public functions, bowling, and baseball. Friday nights were a special time for friends and family to visit John in his home. There might be food on the grill, John playing his guitar, and lots of conversation. Those times will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered. He is survived by his children Randy (Deani) Rendon, Mary (Ray) Nava, and Shelley (Ruben) Ramos, his brother Guadalupe “Wally” Rendon, and sisters Lidia Herrera and Alicia Tanguma. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, especially Laurita Garsa and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Trinidad “Trini” Rendon, and Cruz “Cui” Rendon, 3 sisters; Callentana “Calla” Benavidez, Juanita Garza, and Rosita Gonzalez. The family will receive guests on Friday February 20, 2015 in Strouf Funeral Home from 4 until 6:45 p.m. when there will be a vigil service concluding at 7 p.m. Further visitation will be Saturday February 21, 2015 from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 1100 Erie St. where a Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Fr. Antony Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.;
