Jimmie Canady, 62, of Racine, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 in his home. He was born March 26, 1956 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Charles E. and Mary J. (Nee: Witherspoon) Canady. Jimmie was a graduate of Harper High School in Chicago, IL. He worked at the Goodwill Great Lakes Navy Base as a dishwasher. He enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, listening to music, watching movies, cooking, riding his bike, but most of all, he loved to joke around especially with his family. He will be deeply missed by his children Latoya Morones, Candace (fiancée Rennie Crawford) Canady, Destiny Vassallo (Daren), and Aaron Long. As well as 4 grandchildren, DaZhur, Byron, Akeilah, Cavandre, 6 brothers, Andrew Haywood, Edward Canady, Phillip (Essie) Canady, James (Sue) Canady, Larry Canady and Harry (Brenda) Canady, 3 sisters, Louise Zachery, Phyllis (Sam) Canady and Nadine Canady and special friend Patrice Green, along with other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Carolyn Boykins and Darlene Hughes and 2 brothers Ricky Money Canady and Harold Zachary. Funeral services will be held at Strouf Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive guests in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
