Elvira V. Munoz

Iron Mountain, MI Elvira V. Munoz 85 of Goodman, WI and formerly of Racine, passed away Sunday October 7, 2012 in Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. She was born February 25, 1927 in San Antonio, TX the daughter of Benino and Juanita (nee: Cordova) Velasquez. She married Joseph Munoz in August of 1951 in Racine. He passed away November 13, 1964. Elvira worked as a seamstress for Rainfair in Racine and enjoyed dancing, watching tv and spending time with family. Survivors include her children Lydia (Rosendo Sr.) Tobias of Goodman, WI, Joseph (Delia) Munoz Sr., Yolanda (Hector) Castillo Sr., and Rachel (Ramon) Cervantes Sr. all of San Antonio, 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, a sister Josepfina Zertuche , and a brother Frank (Connie) Velasquez, along with nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Arturo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday October 12, 2012 at 10 am in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1100 Erie St., Fr. Antony Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery on Hwy. 32. The family will receive guests on Thursday in Strouf Funeral Home from 5pm ending with a rosary at 7pm. and on Friday in church 9:30 am until time of Mass.;
