Elsie G. Maki 98 formerly of Racine passed away Monday evening September 29, 2014 in East Troy Manor. She was born June 28, 1916 in Racine the daughter of Charles E. and Julia (nee: Sorensen) Rasmussen. Elsie married John Maki on September 1, 1934 in Racine. He passed away May 1, 1988. Elsie was an Ad Manager with Oster for many years. She spent many years and 5002 hours volunteering at the Veteran’s Association in Wood, WI. She received many awards over the years for her volunteering including the President’s Call to Service award, USA Freedom Corps, signed by President George W. Bush. She will be missed by her 3 children; Patricia Owens, Marlene O’Kane, and Julie (Tom) Cavey, 11 grandchildren;Kathleen (Jeff) Dellemann, David (Denise) Owens, Kris (Mike) Levinson, Lisa Phillips, Amy, Hank, Molly and Victor O’Kane, Kelly, John, and Jacob Cavey. Elsie is further survived by 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 sisters. Funeral Services will be Friday October 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Strouf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.;
