Our loving mother, Antonia C. Marquez was called home to the Lord on Sunday August 7, 2016. She married the love of her life Simon M. Marquez, on November 29,1952. They raised 10 beautiful children, Theresa (Jose) Jesse, Lupe, Teilma (Baltazar), Lewis (Margaret), Simon Jr. Juan (Beatrice), Alma (Roque), Arturo (Angie), Antonia (Julian) and Andres. She retired from the Racine Unified School District in 1992 and she loved to play bingo and the Sizzling Seven slot machine at the casinos. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them and she had the best sense of humor of anybody Antonia was a jokester and loved when her numbers hit. She loved to watch her wrestling, (she even slapped and figure four leg lock on her late husband Simon) She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children, her beautiful 39 grandchildren, 99 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her loving husband Simon, 3 sons Jesse, Lewis and Andres, her beloved mother Sara V. Cruz, 4 sisters, Virginia, San Juana, Margarita, Rosa, 1 brother Reyes and loving in-laws Juan and Tomasa Marquez. 1 grand daughter Angelica Garcia and 2 great grand daughters Theresa Moreno and Margaret Saenz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday August 15, 2016 in St. Patrick Catholic Church 1100 Erie St. Racine, at 1 pm. Father Antony Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Southern Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove WI. on Tuesday August 16, 2016 t 11 am. The family deeply and sincerely thanks Dr. Nicholson, Dr. Otter, Dr. Engel andespecially Hospice Alliance for all the care and love that was provided to our mother during her time of health and illness.
