Reinaldo Cartagena, 83, of Racine passed away Sunday June 18, 2017 in the Zilber Family Hospice Care Center. He was born January 18, 1934 in Salinas Puerto Rico, the son of Lito and Isabelle (Nee: Ortiz) Cartagena. He married Margarita (Nee: Veguilla) Cartagena on September 10, 1969 in Puerto Rico. A machine operator for Green Manufacturing, Reinaldo enjoyed gardening and playing his guitar. An avid birdwatcher, he also enjoyed watching TV and his two favorite shows, “Wheel of Fortune” and “WWE Wrestling”. He will be deeply missed by his wife Margarita, 5 children, Lus (Carlos) Ortiz, Reinaldo Cartagena Jr. Gilberto (Kariann) Cartagena, Maria (Orlando) Cartagena and Ricardo (Ashley) Cartagena. 6 grandchildren, Adriana (Lorenzo) Cochran, Joseph (Chelsea) Cochran Jr. Carlos Ortiz III, Casandra Ortiz, Monica Cartagena, Klara Q. Cartagena and 2 great-great grandchildren, Josiah Cochran and Eliana Rosario. He will be also missed by 1 brother Angel Cartagena and 5 sisters Irma Pagan, Yolanda Cartagena, Ana Dilia Cartagena-DeJesus, Florenca Cartagena and Wanda Sens. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reinaldo preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Eladio, Emerito and 1 sister Antonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Reinaldo Thursday, June 22, 2017 in St. Patrick Catholic Church (1100 Erie St. Racine). Father Gerald Hessel officiating. The family will receive guests Wednesday June 21, 2017 in the funeral home from 4-7 pm and again in church Thursday June 22 2017 from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow services in Holy Cross Cemetery on HWY 32
