RACINE James J. Clarke, 76 passed away unexpectedly on Friday June 8, 2012 in his home. He was born March 15, 1936 in Cleveland, OH the son of Frank and Catherine (nee Fitz) Clarke. Jim married Joanne Weber Roeske on September 1, 1979 in Wauwatosa, WI He was employed as an underwriter for 30 years with CGU (formerly Commercial Union) in Milwaukee retiring in 1999. Jim was a veteran in the US Army and a member of St. Rita’s parish in Racine. Survivors include his wife Joanne, a son Mike (Susan) Clarke of Wauwatosa, Stepson Nick (Annette) Roeske of Wauwatosa, grandpapa of Lindsey, Brett, and Kasey, brothers Arthur “Skip” (Colleen) Clarke, Jack Clarke, and Frank (Pat) Clarke, an honorary brother Frank Spurlock, and a sister-in-law Barbara Clarke. Jim is further survived by his god daughter Colleen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joe, and sister-in-law Georgene Clarke. A Memorial Mass to celebrate the life of Jim Clarke will be held Friday June 22, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Rita’s Catholic Church 4339 Douglas Ave. There will be no visitation and in lieu of flowers memorials to your favorite charity may be made. ;
