Elena B. Rodriguez 88 passed away Saturday morning April 26, 2014 in her home. She was born August 10, 1925 in Cotulla, TX the daughter of Feliciano B. and Refugia B. (nee: Blanco) Flores. Elena married Andres Salas Rodriguez on October 3, 1941 in Cotulla, TX. He passed away January 15, 1979. Elena was a homemaker and factory worker, a member of Cristo Rey Parish where she had been active with the ladies club. She loved to dance, work in her garden, and crochet. She will be deeply missed by her children: Susan Rodriguez, Silvia Gaytan, Andres (Mary) Rodriguez, Joseph (Deborah) Rodriguez, and Erlinda Rodriguez, 7 grandchildren; Deanna, Shai, Krystle, Angelina, Andrea, Joseph, and Kaitlin, 7 great grandchildren, and a brother Nestor (Julia) Flores along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sisters and a great granddaughter Elena Catherine. Funeral Services will be Thursday May 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. In Strouf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery on Hwy. 32. The family will receive guests on Thursday from 10 am until time of services in the funeral home.
