Annette M. “Annie” Herman, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Matthew’s Senior Living of Oak Creek. She was born on February 27, 1925, in Racine, the daughter of Ben and Alma (Muehr) Olsen. Annie graduated from Park High School class of ’42. In 1945 she served in the U.S. Coast Guard in New London, Conn. Annie worked for Bell Telephone, Western Union, and Greyhound Bus in Racine. She retired to help care for her grandchildren. Her children are Pris (Barb), Paul (Shelia), Sandy (Mike) DeBonis, John (Peg), Jim (Sue Higgins), and Suanne (Brent) Hutchison. Grandchildren: Eddie (Fifi), Greg and Jeff Herman, Matthew and Tim (Nina) DeBonis, Nate (Dana) and Gus Hutchison. Great-Grandchildren: Indie, Harlie & Haylie Hutchison. Barry (Angelica) Grant, was also like a son to Annie. She was preceded in death by her children’s father Edward, an infant son, brothers Donald and Ben Olsen, and sister Doris Fowler. Following Annie’s wishes, a private service was held. Memorials may be made in Annie’s honor to the Racine Public Library or the Wounded Warrior Project.
She was the most remarkable woman I have ever known. I will miss her dearly
Mom and I will miss her. Wonderful lady. Very blessed to have spent time with Annie and getting to know her. As mom n Annie always said ( see ya later alligator, after while crocodile).
