Violet “Vi” May Knop, 100, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Gentiva Hospice in Racine. Vi was born in Racine on October 9, 1922, the daughter of William and Myrtle (Nee: Stephens) Sleeman. On April 11, 1942 she married Donald F. Knop in Racine. Violet worked at Western Printing as a bookbinder. She loved spending time at their cabin and also enjoyed crocheting, traveling, dancing and mall walking. Violet will be deeply missed by her two children Robert (Diane) Knop and Donna (Tom) Mears along with her 9 grandchildren Allen Phillips, Scott Phillips, Jodi Phillips, Kathy Wolden, Bobbi Lynn Olsen, Nikki Ramseier, Tommy Mears, Erin Huerta and Joey Mears. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald and daughter Sharon Swartout. Funeral services for Violet will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Strouf Funeral Home. The family will receive guests at the Funeral Home on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
