Vanetta E. Rodriguez

Vanetta E. Rodriguez 81 passed away Thursday morning December 19, 2013 in Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born February 22, 1932 in Mauston, WI the daughter of Lloyd J. and Marian L. (nee: Robertson) Langer. Following High School Vanetta enlisted in the Naval Reserve during the Korean Conflict. During her time in service she met and later married Aristeo B. Rodriguez in 1953 in Waukegan, IL. Vanetta enjoyed following the news and world events. She also loved going shopping with her husband Art. Vanetta was a very kind and loving lady who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband Aristeo Rodriguez, two sisters Leora Osnager, and Lorraine Barthel, her step mother Bertha Langer, a step brother Tom Langer, and a step sister Peggy Langer. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friends Edward Thomas, Vaughn Johnson, Tony Morales, and John Arredando. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Mike Rodriguez, four brothers, Harley, Francis, Burdette, and Dean Langer, and a sister Merrylee Carpenter. Art and the family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of Lincoln Lutheran and the doctors and nurses at Wheaton Franciscan ICU for their wonderful care of Vanetta. Funeral services will be Thursday, 1 p.m. December 26, 2013 in Strouf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the Town of Dover. The family will receive guests in the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services. ;
