Shirley Ann Jorgenson, 81, of Racine, passed away at her residence on Sunday, April 9, 2023. Shirley was born on March 4, 1942 in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of the late John Zanio and Helen Godlewski. Shirley wed Gustave Jorgenson on June 27,1964, in Racine, WI and remained in holy matrimony until he preceded her in death on March 15, 2018, to this union three children were born. Shirley obtained her Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting and ended her working career at Styberg Engineering as coordinator of the engineering dept. In Shirley’s free time she enjoyed knitting and spinning yarn. She also was an avid bird lover, loving the birds in her house as well as the birds out in nature. She also had a special love for her Jack Russel Terrier who she affectionally referred to as “Jack”. Shirley spent as much time as she could at her Camp Turtle in Northern Wisconsin camping and communing with nature. Shirley will be deeply missed by her children, Laura (Gary) Gemmel, Barbara (Jeff) Anderson, and Eric (David) Jorgenson-Schaffer, loving grandchildren, Kristin, Heleana, Tara, and Todd, and great -grandchildren, Taliyah, Daemym, Jerimyah James ( J J ), Riley, Josie, Emma and Caleb. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband and both of her parents. Services for Shirley will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Strouf Funeral Home in Racine, WI at 12:00 P.M. The family will receive guests in the funeral home on Thursday, May, 4, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. until the start of service. Burial will be private for family per Shirley’s wishes.
