Santiago M. Rodriguez Sr. (JIMMY) 85 of Racine, passed away Friday August 5, 2016 in Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Hospital. He was born May 1, 1931 in Cuero Texas, the son of Canuto and Fernanda (Nee: Meddelin) Rodriguez. He married Nicolasa Rodriguez December 20, 1950 in Sturgeon Bay WI. and she passed away March 31, 2013. Jimmy worked for Chrysler for over 33 year. Jimmy was a Mr. Fix-it, as he loved working in his garage and on anything mechanical. He would drop everything to help out others in need and was a very patient man, which showed as he tried many times to sneak into the military to join his brothers. (he was the youngest brother and the military always told him NO)  But to his family, he was known as SUPERMAN. Santiago is survived by 5 children, David (Sylvia) Rodriguez, Emma (Enrique) Cruz, Daniel (Rosemary) Rodriguez, Roy (Defni) Rodriguez and Annette (Luis) Maldonado. 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased in death by his parents, 1 daughter Mary Gonzalez, 2 sons Santiago Jr. and Victor Rodriguez, 1 sister Juanita and 4 brothers Marcelino, Hilario, Guadalupe (Tony) and Sotero.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Lucy’s Catholic Church 3101 Drexel Ave. Racine on Thursday August 11, 2016 at 1 pm. Father Ron Gramza officiating. The family will receive guests on Thursday in the church from 12:30 until the time of service and Wednesday evening in Strouf Funeral Home from 5-7 pm. Burial will follow church services in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to send a special Thank you to his grandson Adam Cruz and his son-in-law Luis Maldonado for being there and caring for Jimmy.
