Ruben Ramos Gutierrez, 66 of Racine passed away on Friday January 20, 2023 after a short terminal illness at his home surrounded by family and friends. Ruben was born on April 13, 1956 in Mexico, son of Ramon Ramos Prado and Ma. Santos Gutierrez. Ruben migrated to the United States in March of 1979, ultimately establishing residency in Racine, WI. Ruben was a devoted husband to Shelley for 36 years and together built a beautiful family.Ruben was a proud union member of Local 113 with The Kuehne Company in Oak Creek, WI for over 30 years. He took great pride in pointing out the various job sites he worked on throughout Southeastern WI. He made sure you knew exactly which retaining wall he built, the landscaping job he assisted with and exactly how it was done, “loaded truck, drove to site, prepped area, laid sod, drove to shop, unloaded truck…”. Ruben’s work ethic went well beyond his retirement; always assisting and providing his expertise landscaping knowledge and advice to family and friends.  Not only was Ruben a devoted husband, father and loving grandfather, but he was also a great friend. No one who met Ruben will forget his infectious smile and easy-going personality. He will be forever remembered for his amazing voice heard at every family gathering usually accompanied with a Miller High Life in hand.  Ruben will be deeply missed by his siblings Andrea, Juan, AnaMaria, Jesus, Ramon, Vicente, Rosa, Jose, Pedro and Claudio; children Rubicelia Ramos (Anselmo Mendez), Ruben Ramos Jr. and Sonia Ramos; grandchildren Jovana, Marisol Adrian, Ruby, Miguel, Elissa, Ruben III, Janessa, Reyna, Analisa, Felix, Yesenia and Lisette; nine great-grandchildren; many niece, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Ramon Ramos Prado and Ma. Santos Gutierrez, granddaughter AnaMaria, brother Refugio and his beloved wife, Shelley.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St Patrick’s Catholic Church (1100 Erie St). The family will receive guests on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park where Ruben will be laid to rest next to his wife.
