Rosa S. Chavez, 83, of Racine, passed away Tuesday, September 12^th, 2018 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. She was born on June 18^th, 1935, the daughter of Augustine and Martina (NEE: Villalobos) Sanchez in San Antonio, Texas. She married Guillermo “William” Chavez on June 28^th, 195 in Waukegan, Illinois. William passed away on June 27^th, 2012. Rosa worked as a seamstress for Rainfair Corporation for 30 years. She loved dancing, laughing, joking, planting, and gardening. Especially she enjoyed taking care of her grand kids and making clothes for them that she had sewn. Rosa will be missed by her six children Ben (Sylvia) Chavez, Olivia (John Pfander) Chavez, Guillermo Chavez Jr., Eva (Edwardo Murillo) Chavez, Martin Chavez, and Rosa Maria Chavez, as well as her twenty-one grandchildren, fifty-two great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She is survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Willie Chavez, one daughter Rita Chavez, and one brother Benito Sanchez. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 21^st, 2018 at Strouf Funeral Home at 3 p.m. The family will receive guests on Friday, September 21^st, 2018 at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial is private for the family per Rosa’s wishes.
