Robert J. Bell 90, of Racine passed away Monday December 26, 2016 in Villa Lincoln Park. He was born July 9, 1926 in Fayetteville Georgia, the son of James Sr. and Olevia (Nee: Person) Bell. Robert married the love of his life “the late” Mattie Mae. An assembly worker for American Motors, Robert loved working on and driving cars in his free time. His one passion in life though was watching old cowboy movies. Survivors include his 2 sons, Darrell Bell and Gregg Simmons, 2 daughters, Shirley Bell and Carolyn Simmons, and 2 brothers Willie Bell and Harold Bell. Robert is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Olevia Bell, his wife Mattie Mae, a daughter Catherine Bell and 4 brothers James I. Bell, Henry C. Bell, Melvin Bell and Hubert Bell along with 1 sister Tessie Bell. A funeral service for Robert will be held Tuesday Jan, 3, 2017 at 11 am in Strouf Funeral Home The family will receive guests on Tuesday Jan. 3, 2017 in the funeral home from 9 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
