Richard P. St. Martin

RACINE Richard P. St. Martin 84 passed away Thursday morning May 3, 2012 in Elizabeth Residence after a long illness. He was born June 2, 1927 in Racine the son of Peter and Mildred (nee: Gratz) St. Martin. Richard married Barbara Leininger May 5, 1951 in Racine. He was employed with the City of Racine for 22 years retiring in 1989. Richard proudly served his Country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing camping, bowling, hunting, travel and visiting casinos. Richard is survived by his loving wife of nearly 61 years, Barbara. He was the proud dad of Dennis (Becky) St. Martin, Debra (John) Schenkenberg, Brian (Rachel) St. Martin, and Mark (Joan) St. Martin along with many many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is further survived by his daughter-in-law Charlene St. Martin, 4 sisters Sharon Orlowski, Barbara Melster, Lois (Jim) Hunter, and Sandra (Butch) Verken and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael, 2 grandsons Josh St. Martin and Matt Schiess, and his mother and father-in- law, Marion and Frank Gudzunas. Funeral Services will be held Monday May 7, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in Strouf Funeral Home, Fr. Ron Gramza officiatting. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors. The family will receive guests on Sunday from 4-7 pm in the funeral home, and again on Monday from 10 am until time of service. Richard’s family would like to offer a special thanks to Seth, Ramel, John, and Mary and the entire staff of Elizabeth Residence and Seasons Hospice for their loving and compassionate care shown him during his final days. ;
