Marcelina was a Great American Story. She immigrated to Racine, Wisconsin in 1969 and worked at Ascension All Saints Hospital for many years (previously St. Mary’s & St Lukes Hospital). She retired with the highest of respect from co-workers, supervisors and executives. Her family, relatives, friends and coworkers were witness to an amazing work ethic and gracious lifestyle. Her work ethic was a sense of pride. She was kind, loving and sacrificial in everything she did. She was a dedicated wife and mother. Her wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh was one of a kind. Marcelina loved to travel to see her children and grandchildren. She especially loved Springtime when she could plant beautiful flowers and take pride in their beauty and her home. A loving and faithful mother, humble, hardworking, and in daily prayer, make up much of her legacy. Spending time with her children was what she loved. Marcelina will be missed by her children Alicia (Dennis Dixon), Jesse (Kathleen) Vega, Rudy (Rosy) Vega, along with grandchildren Jaime, Karley and Katelyn. She is preceded in death by her husband Jesus, son Jaime and siblings of Mexico. Funeral Mass Services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1100 Erie Street Racine, WI) on Monday, May 15th at 11 am. Family will receive guests at the church at 10 am until the time of service. Her remains will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery at a future date.
Our deepest condolences to your family and friends. We didn’t know Marcelina but from what we have read she was a wonderful person and truly loved. She touched the lives of her family and coworkers by her hard work and her faith and will be thought of often and never forgotten. In the difficult days and nights ahead may the many wonderful memories of her life give you comfort. Something we have personally found to be of great comfort are the thoughts expressed in the Bible at John 5:28 “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his (Jesus) voice and come out “. May You find hope and peace though God Jehovah’s promise of a resurrection.
