As I sit here watching the sun rise behind a soft rain my heart is heavy. My sister Sandy lost her love, partner, and father of her children today. In the early hours, as it so often is, his soul was taken out of his worn and withering body. Buddy was a good man with a sweet Kentucky accent that could make you smile with a simple “good morning”. He loved his family with everything he had and even thou not all of his hopes and dreams for his children and grandchildren were to be, he loved them non the less. His boys will now become good men like their father and he’ll be watching with great pride as my sister finishes what they began together a longtime ago. As for her, she will continue as he would want and during those quiet nights as she lays alone in their bed she’ll hear his soft Kentucky voice whisper into her ear “I’m here” and her heart will rest because she knows he’ll never really leave her. Love is more than a word or action it takes over your soul and remains there forever and death does not change or weaken it. ❤
