Lloyd Harold Thornton, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at The Villa at Lincoln Park, Racine, WI. He was born on December 5, 1925 in Racine, the son of Roland and Jessy (Nee: Young) Thornton. He married the late Karen (Nee: Svendsen) on March 8, 1954. Lloyd was a foreman for WI Small Motors. He delivered meals on wheels, loved doing crafts, and listening to old country music, an old AMC Rambler guy. He loved to travel to Mardi Gras, he stepped foot into Elvis’ house, and even parked in Elvis’ parking spot. Lloyd even met the great Freddie Fender. Lloyd was the great “Honey Lover Boy”. He will be deeply missed by his children, Carol (Darryl) McClelland, Gail (Kenneth) Yuhas, Dennis (Rosemary) Thornton, Keith (Ingrid) Thornton, Kevin (Vicki) Thornton, Grandchildren: Tina Folk, Crystal (Corrie)Abram, Karen (Taylor) Yuhas, Shannon (Jeffrey) Wainwright, Jessica (Chris) Caskey, Jeremy (Rachael) Thornton, Melissa (Walter) Dietshweiler, Amanda (Joshua) Thornton, Joshua Thornton, Leah Thornton, Benjamin Thornton, Hannah Thornton, Madelyn Thornton, Christin (Benny) Thornton-Klein, Alexis Wolff, Tyler Pomlee, John Molnar, Great-Grandchildren: PJ (Tina’s kitty) Merissa, Lauren, William, James, Kaleb, Emily, Genevieve, Alaina, Addison, Benjamin, Aaliyah, Samuel, Mina, Ashley, Paige, Brayden, 2 new babies on the way. He is also survived by brother William (Vera) Thornton, numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Karen Thornton on June 8, 1974, granddaughter Stephanie Molnar, his parents, two brothers and two sisters. The family would also like to send a special thank you to Dr. Christopher Wills and Grace Hospice for their awesome care and compassion for Lloyd. A memorial will take place in the funeral home, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. The family will receive guests in the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial is private for family.
