Justo “Jesse” Martinez Jr. 61, of Racine passed away Wednesday September 6, 2017 in his home. He was born in Puerto Rico, December 2, 1955, the son of Justo and Carmen (Nee: Lopez) Martinez Sr. He married Sherry (Nee: Sherwood) Martinez, March 14, 1977 in Racine. His passion was cars and he worked as a Auto Repair Technician at Tom Carriage Mobil and Bob Stephen’s, Firestone and NAPA where he was an Auto Mechanic and Service manager for many years. He also enjoyed going to the Jefferson Auto Swap and old car shows and also enjoyed watching movies, especially his favorite “Miracle on 34th Street.” Jesse is survived by his wife Sherry, 4 sons Jon, Anthony (Tony), Michael, Nicholas Martinez, 2 sisters Martha Martin and Grisselle Martinez. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Ivonne and Linda and 1 brother, Orlando along with many other family relatives. A Memorial Service will be held in Strouf Funeral Home Sunday October 1, 2017 at 5 pm. A dear friend and brother in law Jon Sherwood officiating. The family will receive guests on Sunday October 1, 2017 in the funeral home from 3pm until the time of service. Burial will be private for the family in Graceland Cemetery. The family would like to send out a special Thank You to Debbie Holden with hospice for over 2 ½ years-A God sent nurse and dear friend and Dr. Byom from Visiting Physicians Association and the staff at Grace Hospice, especially Angel, Kim, Armelinda and Ashlie.
I will miss Jesse. I first met Jesse when I was 15 at school. Never did I believe he would be my brother in law years later. Rest in peace.
Teddybear we traveled a long journey you and I never knowing what each day won!d hold but we knew we would face it together and we would get thru it one day at a time I knew your time was near so did you we held onto each other more and more as time got closer then the time came you lay so quiet and breathe so shallow I held your hand and stroked your hair as god took you away from me I cried of sadness and loss then a thought came to me god didn’t take you away from me he took your pain away and gave you back to your mom and dad and all that had passed before you and I will see you again someday until that day comes you will live on in my memories and in my heart and I will always love you your babydoll and wife
I met a good hearted man 4 years ago named Jesse he was funny heart of gold and happy.I got to know him as time goes on.now my heart is heavy I lost a friend I will always think of him and his funny ways.god took him and his pain away I will see him when I get there to heaven.and I know he looking down at everyone and mostly his wife and 4 children
