Josephine M. De Groot

RACINE Josephine M. DeGroot 84 passed away on Monday afternoon October 29, 2012 in Kenosha Estates with family at her side. She was born June 22, 1928 in Racine the daughter of Herbert and Josephine (nee: Durben) DeGroot. Josephine was employed with Careers for 15 years and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her devoted sister Virginia Blessinger of Racine, and 2 sisters-in-law, Teruko DeGroot of San Leandro, CA, and Janet DeGroot of Racine. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews other relatives and friends. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Brothers and their wives; William (Mary Ann), Henry, Edward (Dolly), Herbert, John (Marsha), George (Lucy), and Bernard DeGroot, a sister Mary, and a brother-in-law John Blessinger, 2 nieces, Carol Ann, and JoAnn Klafka, and 5 nephews; Dennis Blessinger, Darrell, and George Hoffman, and James, and Ricky DeGroot. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday November 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church 1533 Erie St., Fr. Steve Varghese officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive guests on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the church. The family will accept memorials which will be decided upon at a later date.
