Joseph F. Bauer 89, of Racine passed away Thursday April 28, 2016 in Wheaton Franciscan. All Saints Hospital. He was born October 27, 1926 in Buffalo Grove IL. the son of Joseph and Theresa (Nee: Stanke) Bauer. Joseph married his soul mate April 24, 1954 in St. John Nepomuk Church. Joe worked as a lithographer at Western Publishing for many years and retired in June of 1990, he also served his country as a Sargent in the U.S. Army. Joseph was a huge reader, loved to bowl and fish and was a die hard Packer fan. He also enjoyed gambling and playing the slot machines with his wife. Joseph will be deeply missed by his wife Delores, 3 children Debi (Don) Gaetz, Joe (Kim) Bauer and Ryan (Lisa) Bauer. 7 Grandchildren Kari (Jason) Masilian, Joey (Katie) Bauer Kailey, Wren, Miles Bauer, Rachel (Nick) Zuelke, and Andrew Gaetz, 3 Great-grandchildren, Cole, Abbey and Khloe. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Charles (Jan) Bauer and James (Pam) Bauer along with 3 sisters Charlotte Zborel, Francis Smetana and Virginia McCabe He is also survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Robert, Donald and Eugene and 1 sister Elizabeth “Betty” Patzke. A memorial service will be held Tuesday May 3, 2016 in Strouf Funeral Home at 11 am. The family will receive guests from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Holy Cross cemetery on Hwy 32
