Jose L. Martinez

Jose L. Martinez 57, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening December 18, 2014 in Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. He was born July 5, 1957 In Moorhead, MN the son of Robert and Margaret (nee: Rodriguez) Martinez Jose married Armelinda Rodriguez on August 22, 2008 in Racine. He had been employed as a groundskeeper for Johnson Wax. Jose enjoyed weightlifting in his younger years, and enjoyed spending quality time with his mother. He was an avid music collector, enjoyed cars, was a Minnesota Vikings fan, had a passion for buying lottery tickets and deeply loved his grandchildren. Jose was a wonderful person who will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Survivors include his wife Armelinda, two children Miguel (Cori) Saldana, and Carolina (Jose) Puentes, eight grandchildren; Christina, Miguel, Xavier, Marissa, David, Nathaniel, Robert, and Joshua, two brothers; Mario (Martha) Martinez, and Ruben Martinez, and a sister Rose H. Martinez. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jose was preceded in death by his father Robert, a brother John and a sister Diana Ballantyne. The family wishes to offer a special “thank you” to his uncle Frank Martinez, for his companionship and always being there for him. Funeral Services will be Tuesday December 23, 2014 at 1 pm in Strouf Funeral Home, Rev. Frank Ruiz officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Guests will be received on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.;
