John, I was very saddened to hear that you have left us. Though we had some rough times as all people do in this life and then that fork where we turned and followed separate paths I always remembered and thought of you and wondered…..
Trolling out of that bay to get back to the cottage before darkness fell upon us when you hooked into that musky…that Friday night concert at Popular Creek Music Center where we saw Stevie Ray Vaughn and it rained but we had such a great time….walking to your house on Christmas Evening for a few…
I’ve always considered you one of my closest friends. I have a few pictures of you. Several of them from our Northern Wisconsin fishing trips. The one I treasure the most is from one of our gatherings at my mom’s house down at the work bench with your Chicago Bears hat and all. I digitized some old recordings. One of these made back in the 80’s was for a friend living out in Western Kansas. It was just something to let him know that we missed him and keep him up to date. It’s just you and me down at the workbench with a live microphone and the cassette tape rolling.
So old friend though it has been many years since we have seen each other I still think of you and continue to do so. I said a prayer for you this morning for safe journeys forward and know it will be so.
