Sara Schultz (nee Chambers) passed away peacefully on 23 December 2024. She was only 76. Sara was born in Racine Wisconsin. She graduated from Horlick High in 1967. After marrying Robert Schultz in 1968 she went on to various jobs and homes around the world. She was proud of being an Army wife for 25 years, traveling to Germany, Texas, Maryland and elsewhere with her family. Sara was a loving and supportive mother. Through her words and actions, she always made sure her daughter knew she could do and be whatever she wanted and was loved no matter what. Although she would deny it Sara truly lived a life of adventure. She ran a marathon… in 4 hours, kayaked everywhere from Baja California, Mexico to British Columbia, Canada. She moved with her 3-month-old daughter on her own to Berlin Germany at the height of the cold war! She was frequently amazed at how different her life was than what she envisioned in high school. In later years Sara worked as a contractor to the federal government where she supported a variety of project of great importance to national security. In one of those positions, she helped in the development of a state-of-the-art computer chip. As a consequence, her name is engraved at the atomic level on that chip along with the rest of the development team. After retiring in 2010 Sara and her husband Robert made their home in Columbia, MD and later back to Racine, WI where she grew up. She is survived by her Husband Robert Schultz, daughter Jessica Schultz, Sisters Linda Schneck and Patti Chambers, and brother Tom Chambers. A wake for close friends and family will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Army Emergency Relief.
