Jonathan Paul Christiansen, 79, passed away unexpectedly in an accident at home on March 20, 2024.
He was born in Racine, Wisconsin on December 31, 1945 to the Rev. Dr. LeRoy and Catherine (nee: Pendelton) Christiansen. Jonathan graduated from Horlick High School in 1963, received his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from UW-Parkside in 1970 and later a Master’s degree in English.
He was a long-time drama and speech teacher at Salem Central High School where he was employed from 1971 until his retirement in 2012. He is remembered for the many musical plays he produced, and later for the enthusiasm and creativity he brought to his English classes. He loved motorcycles, Corvettes and the family homestead on which he lived.
Jonathan is survived by his sister Pamela Christiaansen of Racine and Nancy Qutub, of Palo Alto, California. He is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends, including best friend Jason Reschke, his first wife Marsha Radewan Connet and second wife Patty Eder. He was preceded in death by his parents, niece Yasmeen Qutub and brother-in-law Shehryar Qutub.
A celebration of his life will be held at a future date.

Horlick HS memory: running the 40-yard wind sprints in the hall with you, Al Mohrbacher and myself. Huffing and puffing down the hall next to the gyms. At the end, Coach Jerry Fishbain calling out “January 10th, January 11th, January 12th…” Rest in peace, talented Jonathon. Job well done here.
Mr C. You were my speech teacher, and public speaker helper. My archery demonstration in your class forwarded me to the Kenosha County Fair, and from there to the State fair. It was a great experience. Thank you, and God Bless you. You’ll be missed by many .
