Joann “Candy” Walker

Joann “Candy” Walker 49 followed the call of her Savior to join Him in Heaven on Monday afternoon, December 17, 2012 in her sister’s home. She was born February 3, 1963 in Chicago, Il the daughter of Joseph and Judith Ann (nee: Wilson) Davis, Sr. Joann married Jerome S. Walker in 1979 in Chicago. He passed away in 1989 She was a homemaker. Survivors include her children; Gregory James Wilson, Charles Tyreese Phillips, Jerome Samuel Walker Jr., Johari Simha Walker, Jessica Ann Walker, Joseph Durrant Walker, Robin Caprice Walker, and adopted son Anthony Tyrone Walker 27 grandchildren, a sister Sabrina (Jimmie) Carter Sr., a brother Joseph (Vicki) Davis, Jr., 2 Aunts Mary Shields, and Ray Johnson, an Uncle Tyrone Wilson, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends, and a special friend Norman Smith. Joann was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Judith Ann Davis Sr. husband Jerome, son Emmanuel Samuel Walker, and a brother Robert Lee Bonner Jr.. A Homegoing Victory Celebration will be held on Friday December 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Strouf Funeral Home 1001 High St., Apostle Charles Pratcher officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery 2510 Kinzie Ave. Viewing will be held on Friday from 10 am until the time of the services in the funeral home.;
