Jewelene Morris, 83, of Racine, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, Wisconsin. She was born on May 4, 1938, in New Albany, Mississippi. Born the daughter of Charlie and Fannie Lou (Nee: Cobb) Morris Sr. Jewelene worked as a certified nursing assistant at St. Mary’s Hospital retiring after 42 years and Franciscan Village up until her retirement in 2006. She enjoyed watching sports, especially cheering on the Bucks, Brewers, and Packers. She loved to watch movies. In the 1960’s and 1970’s she was an advocate of social justice. As a CNA, she was very compassionate towards her patients and loved to care for them. She spent numerous years volunteering for Racine Unified School District and serving on the PTA committee. Jewelene was very intelligent and she spoke her mind. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a strict parent and wanted success for her family. Jewelene will be deeply missed by her fiancé Joe Louis Wray, and children Gigi (Bruce) Oliver, Jerry Allen Morris, and Charmaine (Ernest) Taylor. She will be dearly missed by grandchildren Deanna, Ashley Jr., Deondra, Reymona, Kenah, Omunique, Daymion, Jerrica, Jalon, Cam’airee, Joyce, Tia, and Tiaje. She will also be missed by step children Henry (Valeria) Conner, James Conner, Martha (Malone) Conner, and Larry Goodwin, as well as siblings Roland Morris and Doris Morris. She is survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Jewelene is preceded in death by her parents Charlie Sr. and Fannie Lou, siblings Charlie Jr.  (Thelma), Margaree (Charlie), Magnolia (Hubert), Joe Louis (Edna), and Winnie, as well as Henry W. Conner Sr., father of her children. Funeral Services for Jewelene will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Strouf Funeral Home. The family will receive guests on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment to be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery (3547 Osborne Blvd). Repass will be held at Fountain Banque Hall beginning at 2 p.m. (8505 Durand Ave.).
