Hortensia Z. Rivera 84, passed away Wednesday January 13, 2016 in Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Hospice. She was born June 28, 1931 in Santa Rosa, Texas the daughter of Antonio and Josefa (Nee: Ramirez) Zamairripa. Hortensia married Marcelino Rivera in 1954 in Texas and he passed away in 2002. A homemaker, Hortensia loved sewing, bingo, going to casino’s and scratch tab lottery tickets. She will be deeply missed by her four children Lupe (Arturo) Dozal, AnnaMaria Anchondo, Marcelino Rivera Jr. and Noe Rivera. Hortensia is also survived by two brothers Roberto and David Zamairripa and two sisters Elida Thompson and Juanita Cabrera. She is also survived by other relatives and friends. Hortensia is predeceased by her parents, a daughter Gloria and two sisters Maria and Guadalupe. There will be a gathering to celebrate Hortensia’s life Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Strouf Funeral Home from 11 am until 1 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the family so they can give to a charity of their choice.
