Gloria V. Sanchez, 62, passed away at her home on Monday, October 3, 2022. She was born on May 26, 1960 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Benito and Amelia V. Sanchez. She graduated from Wm. Horlick High School in 1979. Gloria loved listening to music, especially while she latch hooked rugs. She was a huge Packer fan and enjoyed watching the games. One of her favorite things was her enjoyment of Mexican food, especially with her family whom she loved very much. Gloria will be deeply missed by her brothers and sisters, Daniel Sanchez, Rueben (Jeralyn) Sanchez, Alice (Joe Guillory) Sanchez, Drew (Tammy Finley) Sanchez, Irene (Jose Zavala) Sanchez, Maria (Paulino Bernal) Sanchez, Rosita (Valantine) Gomez and Dianne (Tom) Tierney along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and sister Sally (Daniel) McMachon. Funeral services for Gloria will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1100 Erie Street at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive guests at the church on Tuesday, October 11 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Father Jose Mario presiding. Burial will be private for the family per Gloria’s wishes.

Gloria was a cheerful bright light in the room. I had the privilege of working at the Racine Friendship Clubhouse while Gloria was there. She was a great helper in the kitchen. I was always amazed at how precise she chopped tomatoes and other vegetables. She loved to help make Mexican style food, and requested chorizo for lunch. Gloria loved music and would share some of her CDs to play for the group.
She had a great smile and a warm nature. She will truly be missed.
