Erica Huarota, 43, of Racine, passed away peacefully on July 24,2019 while surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born on February 8, 1976 in Racine, Wisconsin. Born the daughter of Jesus and Susana (NEE: Huerta) Huarota. Erica married Jose Villegas on September 12, 2015 and have been together prior for many happy years. Erica worked at Emaus Lutheran Church as a secretary and treasurer. She had just switched jobs and Erica was very proud of her recent position at Ascension All Saints Hospital as a customer representative in the orthopedics department. Erica was a very crafty and creative individual, she enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, and handmaking invitations. She enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful cook. She liked to read and was part of a book club. She was very involved in church, and volunteered at youth group and summer camps. She was always laughing, and her smile lit up the room. But most of all she cherished time spent with her 4 children. Erica will be deeply missed by her husband Jose Villegas, and children Mario, Mariana, Julian, and Jaylene. She will be dearly missed by her father Jesus Huarota and siblings Victor (Josefina) Huarota, Jesus (Lori) Huarota, Julio (Sophia) Huarota, Renato (Jennifer) Huarota, and Carla (Jerry) Rivera. She will be missed by nieces and nephews Victor Jr., Adrianna, Samuel, Andres, Rafael, Julio Jr., Dominic, Gabriella Susana, Lillyanna, Karina Susana, and Mia, as well as one great niece Sophia Susana. She is survived by a host of relatives and friends. Erica is preceded in death by her mother Susana and grandparents Donato and Ofelia (NEE: Altamirano) Huerta and Rafael and Maria (NEE: Gutierrez) Huarota. Funeral service for Erica will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Emaus Lutheran Church ( 1925 Summit Avenue) at 12 p.m. The family will receive guests on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on Highway 32. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to her family.
