RACINE Donald D. Kraus 86 passed away in the comfort of his home Saturday evening June 9, 2012 after a short illness. He was born January 28, 1926 in Racine the son od John and Amelie (nee: Maier) Kraus. Don married Helen Maysian August 27, 1949 in Racine. She passed away July 18, 2010. Don was a machinist for Twin Disc for many years and proudly served his Country in the Marines during WWII. He enjoyed art and history and was a great sports fan following the Brewers and the Packers. Survivors include his loving children, Ken (Barbara) Kraus of Vernon Hills, IL, David (Peggy) Kraus of Johnstown, CO, Kimberly (Randy) Guzman, and Debra Sanders both of Racine, Grandchildren; Colin, Jeffrey, and Matthew Kraus Stacey Guzman, Antonia (Luke) Anderson, Elena Guzman, Donald (Linda) Sanders, and Dione Sanders, 4 great granddaughters; Anaiyah, Alezandra, Giselle, and Aurora. Don is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Helen, a grandson Cameron and 14 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Wednesday June 13, 2012 at 11 am in Strouf Funeral Home, Reverend Tony Larson officiating. Inurnment will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 10 am until time of services in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Alliance in Don’s name. The family would like to thank with deepest gratitude,Hospice Alliance and their staff for the loving and dignified care they gave to Don during his final days. ;
