Da’Vida Nikita Minor, 33, of Racine, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at home. She was born May 29, 1986 in Waukegan, IL. the daughter of David and Tincie (NEE: Mays) Minor. She married the late Paul John Kiple in 2003 in Waukegan, Illinois. Da’Vida loved playing piano and was very artistic. She loved drawing and painting, and was very detail oriented. Da’Vida had a big heart and was very generous. She loved people and animals, and was very down to earth. She was smart and was always interested in learning, especially about the movement of 1960’s and 1970’s. Da’Vida will be missed deeply by her parents David and Tincie (NEE: Mays) Minor, brother Phillip E. Allen, sister, Quiana M. Mays, nephew Phillip Allen Jr., aunts Sheila, Rosalind, Angela, and Alesia, uncles Tyrone, and Dwan. She is survived by a host of cousins, relatives, and friends, as well as her Native American family members. Da’Vida is preceded in death by her husband Paul, grandmothers Lucille and Johnnie Marie Mays, and grandfather William Howard Mays. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Strouf Funeral Home at 11 a.m. The family will receive guests on Thursday, July 18 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Da’Vida and I became friend when we worked in Kenosha. She was always smiling and happy and always saw the upside to things. She was a beautiful soul that will truly be missed. My condolences to all of you guys and I’m sorry for your loss.
