Daniel A. Orta passed away peacefully at Ascension Hospital on January 5, 2022 at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born December 3,1934 in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Pablo and Aurelia (Nee: Alvarez) Orta.  Daniel met the love of his life, Carmen Canizales and their loving marriage continued for over 67 years.  They were blessed with six children:  Daniel Jr., Juan, Irene, Paul, Lydia and Ernestina Orta.  They came and settled in Wisconsin and he worked for J.I. Case for many years.  Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family many a conversations were spoken in his favorite spot the front porch.  There you would find him enjoying beautiful, warm summer days and all family and friends were welcome to stop by and share their day or give a friendly wave as they drove by. It gave him great joy when his daughters cooked out. There is where all would gather for family fun.  Summers for Daniel were not complete without watching his son, play a game or two of softball in the Racine Leagues. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Minnesota Viking and the Chicago Cubs.  Daniel enjoyed playing bingo and watching Family Feud with his wife and daughters. San Antonio was always home, and he visited as often as possible for great food, wonderful fiestas, Tejano music and spend time with family.  Daniel is survived by his loving wife Carmen, children Daniel (Lucy) Orta, Jr., Juan Orta (MaryJane), Irene (John) Coca, Paul (Maria) Orta, Lydia (Jeff) Stevenson and Ernestina Orta (Juan), along with 25 grandchildren, and host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister Diana (Ramiro) Delgado, and brother Armando (Nancy) Orta all from San Antonio.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, brother David Orta and sisters Alicia Espinosa, Hope Orta, Rachel Lord and Gloria Barbosa.  Funeral services for Daniel are private for the family.
