Joyce Canady, 63, of Racine, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022. Joyce was born on September 12, 1958, in Chicago, Il, the daughter of late Fremon Sr. and Sarah Canady (Nee: Witherspoon). Joyce graduated from Englewood High School and Kennedy King College both in Chicago, IL. Joyce relocated to Frankford, Germany before settling in Racine, Wi in 1989, where she resided until she was called home. Joyce was a very kind and spirited woman who loved to travel, her favorite place to visit was the Wax Museum in Hollywood, California. Most of all Joyce cherished spending time with her family and loved ones. Joyce will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Carmilita Mayes and Lillian Mayes-Greer, eight grandchildren, Nazirah, Fahim, Michael, Amirah, Samad, LaZaveon, Lazariah, And Armyah, four sisters, Jacqueline Thomas of Pembroke Il, Daisy and Evelyn Canady of Racine, WI, Antoinette (Jamil) Crawley of Houston, TX, two brothers, Hansel (Renee) and Frank Canady of Racine, WI, along with nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by both her parents, Fremon Sr and Sarah Canady, three brothers, Fremon Canady Jr, Glen Canady, and Tommy Steward, and one sister Martha Ann McAtee. Services for Joyce will be held on Wednesday, June 29,2022 at Strouf Funeral home at 12:00 P.M. The family will receive guests on Wednesday, June 29,2022 from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
