Basilia Felix, 91, passed away Sunday Oct. 30, 2016 in Ridgewood Care Center. She was born Jan. 21, 1925 in Puerto Rico, the daughter of Rufino and Mercedes (Nee: Torres) Felix. A grocery store owner in Puerto Rico, Basilia loved to cook, garden and travel. She was very passionate about her knitting and was a kind and loving mother and father to her children. She will be deeply missed by her 3 children, Ruth (Reinaldo) Torres, Jose (Judith) Caraballo and Virginia (Bob) Hartje, along with many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Basilia is also survived by 1 brother Efrain Felix and 1 sister Virginia Garcia and other nieces, nephews relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Carlos Bernier and 4 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held Friday Nov. 4, 2016 at 11 am inside Strouf Funeral Home. Father Antony Thomas officiating. The family will receive guests on Friday Nov. 4, 2016 in the funeral home from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
