Annette “Nettie” Austen

Annette “Nettie” Austen 97 formerly of Racine passed away Sunday July 13, 2014 in the home of her great niece. In 1917 German immigrants Rolf and Maria Stronheim adopted Nettie in New York before settling in Wisconsin. Nettie met and married George Austen July 20, 1937 in Milwaukee. He passed away February 2, 1949. She was employed over the years with Western Publishing and Rain Fair along with being a homemaker. Nettie is survived by her great niece Deborah (Steven) Smithfield and 7 great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son Franklin. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday July 17, 2014 followed by burial next to her husband, George. Please remember Nettie with a donation to your favorite charity.;
