December 14, 1998 – August 30, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alyssa Ann Underwood. She was born on 12/14/1998 and was taken home 24 short years later on 08/30/23.
Alyssa was always smiling and full of love & light. She had an effortless way of connecting with everyone that crossed her path. Alyssa could always find the good in everything and had a terrific sense of humor. She was a perfect and amazing Daughter, Sister, Partner & Friend.
Alyssa had an immense love for her dogs (Lennox, Roxy and Franklin) and animals of all kinds. She loved traveling, the beach, cooking and video games. Alyssa was a thrill seeker and loved water slides, jet skiing, zip-lining, sky diving, roller coasters and everything adventurous.
Alyssa will be forever missed by her parents: Tammy (Turner) & David Underwood, her beloved Brother and Sister: Jerry & Brenda Turner and her Soulmate: Antonio Delosrios.
Alyssa is also survived by her Aunt Karen Weatherly, her Uncles: Mike, Travis and Tim Underwood, her cousins: Peggy, Karen Jean, Brittnee, Alaina, her sister in-law Kathy and her Best Friend: Caitlin Riley, as well as so many other very good friends.
May we always remember Alyssa’s gifts of light, love & kindness and may those memories inspire us to spread those same gifts back out into the world.
A celebration of Alyssa’s life and the love her family and friends have for her is planned for Saturday, 9/9/23 at 3:00 P.M. at the Elmwood Park Community Church, 2334 N 75th Ave, Elmwood Park, IL 60707
Memorial donations in Alyssa’s honor may be made to PawsChicago at pawschicago.org or to a local animal shelter of your choice.
David, you and Tammy are in our prayers. I know nothing I can do or say will alleviate your pain but just know, Norma and I are thinking of you and your family at this trying times in your lives.
We love you all and send our love and prayers. Mike and Kit
Thank you Jim that means a lot
Dave and Tammy, I cannot imagine any greater pain than the loss of a child. I’m praying that God will comfort you. The Bible says “Though the Lord brings grief, He also shows compassion according to His unfailing love. For He does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow.” May you feel His presence and love today and always.
