Thomas E. Mason 80 passed away Sunday afternoon in Lakeshore Manor after an extended illness. He was born November 20, 1934 in Etta, Mississippi the son of Jackson J. and Naomi L. (Nee Visor) Mason. Thomas was united in marriage to M. Wilma Ball on May 18, 1968 in Racine celebrating 47 years together. Thomas was an auto salvage dealer, a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, and proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the South Gate Masonic Lodge #6 A.F.& A.M., where he was a member of the traveling bowling league, and the American Legion Post 546. Thomas enjoyed travel, restoring vintage cars, and most importantly, spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Wilma, his devoted son Craig, a sister Christine Mason, 4 aunts; Nettie, Mason Coker, Mae Mason, Annarine Visor, and Sandra Mason, and 5 sisters-in-law; Geneva Sanders, Beatrice Ball, Gertrude Ball, Kathryn Ball, and Elaine Mason, Thomas is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Kevin Mason, a brother James Mason, and a sister Nellie Nash. Funeral Services will be held Saturday September 12, 2015 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church 1123 Center St., Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Saturday from 10 am until the time of services in the church.
